How to Find the Best Free AppsMany of the modern mobile phones available on the market have a range of applications you can use. Mobile phones are no longer just about calling and texting. You can use various applications to inject some fun and entertainment into your mobile. One of the most popular phones is the Iphone. There is a catalogue of applications available for this make of mobile – and the list grows rapidly each day. You will have no problem in finding the apps that are best suited to your individual needs and wants. There are many applications that you have to pay for but it is possible to find just as many free apps. A quick browse of the internet will present you with a long list of websites and companies that can offer you free apps to download. You can also find advertisements for free apps in many magazines and some newspapers. They will usually provide you with a website to visit, a telephone number to call or a number to send a text to in order to download the application you want. There are so many entertaining and fun apps to choose from but there are also some very practical ones too. For example there are free apps that give you current news alerts as well as software that has diction facilities (so you can orally write your texts to send to people).
Some of the problem areas recently tackled by us including ongoing programmes, are:
The latest venture is the design of a system of dedicated microsats that will deliver observations of storm location and intensity in 'real-time' to forecasting centres and ships at sea. We have longer experience in the field of creating useful marine products from raw satellite data than any company in Europe, and this is reflected in the number of Training Workshops it has been asked to organise around the world.

Several satellites measure the height of waves at the sea surface. We archive these and windspeed measurements in the database. This then used to provide high quality marine statistics and climatology.
Transporting a 33000 ton semi-submersible safely from Canada to Brazil depends critically on making the best use of whatever information is available on sea-state. We worked closely with DockTell on the project.
The Sea State Alarm service transmits reports to ships comparing actual sea state along the satellite tracks with the forecast. |
