Snowboarding Tips Choose Burton Snowboard BootsSnowboarding is as popular as skiing nowadays and is a fun way to keep fit. It can take a few hours to master as it requires a lot of balance and concentration to make sure that you don’t fall over! The first step in being able to snowboard is to have the right equipment. As well as a good snowboard, you need to ensure that you have the right clothing. It needs to be warm, waterproof and light to ensure that you can glide over the snow effectively. One of the most important pieces of clothing is the snowboard boots. These need to fit correctly and be able to attach to the board in the correct manner. There are many brands of boots to choose from but one of the most favoured is Burton snowboard boots. The burton snowboard boots that you choose should be comfortable but should be a snug fit. Do not purchase boots that are too big and then tighten them as this will cut of the circulation in your legs! Similarly, choose one pair of snowboarding socks to wear with your snowboard boots. Some people put on two pairs of socks but this can lead to a decrease in the blood flow of your legs, which could mean that your toes will be susceptible to the cold. It is also important to wear the socks high and avoid tucking your trousers into your snowboard boots as this can get uncomfortable as the day goes on.
Some of the problem areas recently tackled by us including ongoing programmes, are:
The latest venture is the design of a system of dedicated microsats that will deliver observations of storm location and intensity in 'real-time' to forecasting centres and ships at sea. We have longer experience in the field of creating useful marine products from raw satellite data than any company in Europe, and this is reflected in the number of Training Workshops it has been asked to organise around the world.

Several satellites measure the height of waves at the sea surface. We archive these and windspeed measurements in the database. This then used to provide high quality marine statistics and climatology.
Transporting a 33000 ton semi-submersible safely from Canada to Brazil depends critically on making the best use of whatever information is available on sea-state. We worked closely with DockTell on the project.
The Sea State Alarm service transmits reports to ships comparing actual sea state along the satellite tracks with the forecast. |
