Some Free iPhone ApplicationsAccording to the iPhone advertisement, there is an app for just about everything! One cannot deny this as iPhone has developed a number of apps on topics ranging from health and lifestyle to education, travel and money. The good news is that not all iphone applications have to be bought. Some apps are available for free download. Read on to find out more about some free iPhone apps that can come in handy to everyone. Productivity tools can be used by everyone to organise and better their life. A good free iPhone productivity app is PageOnce Personal Assistant. This app integrates all your online accounts such as email, MySpace, online bank account etc. into a single platform that is easy to browse. A free yellow Pages application puts searchable yellow pages listings onto your iPhone applications list. It allows users to conduct narrow and specific searches. Obviously, this is a localised application, which means it depends on your current location. This app also provides a list of upcoming events, concerts and happenings, making it even more useful to have, unless one is fond of carrying the yellow pages book around with them at all times! Wouldn’t it be nice, if one could save long online articles and read them at leisure later, especially when one is not connected and cannot access the web? Well there is an app for that. It allows you to save data and read it on the iPhone at a later time of your convenience. There are several free apps for the iPhone, and these are just a few interesting free apps available.
Some of the problem areas recently tackled by us including ongoing programmes, are:
The latest venture is the design of a system of dedicated microsats that will deliver observations of storm location and intensity in 'real-time' to forecasting centres and ships at sea. We have longer experience in the field of creating useful marine products from raw satellite data than any company in Europe, and this is reflected in the number of Training Workshops it has been asked to organise around the world.

Several satellites measure the height of waves at the sea surface. We archive these and windspeed measurements in the database. This then used to provide high quality marine statistics and climatology.
Transporting a 33000 ton semi-submersible safely from Canada to Brazil depends critically on making the best use of whatever information is available on sea-state. We worked closely with DockTell on the project.
The Sea State Alarm service transmits reports to ships comparing actual sea state along the satellite tracks with the forecast. |
